Since my appointment as Product Team Leader within the Mastic Community. The new world I would like to propose this new feature for the Mautic 3 series as a candidate for Mautic.
Planning
We are very happy to work on replacing the current jamaica email list builder which has now outlived its usefulness. No longer meets the requirements that we set for ourselves and our customers. This has been asked of us many times by our customers and as usual we are listening.
We are also listening to the Mau tic community
This demand is also very strong there, the Mau tic community are the strategic deserves better than what we have today!
We will first develop it as a plugin and then ask the Mastic community teams to consider it as a canada email lead new core feature. The advantage of starting with a plugin? Even if Webmecanik users will benefit from it earlier, all community users will be able to benefit from it even before the feature is published in a new community version.
Here is the roadmap that I will propose to the community:
Development of a proof of concept (POC) replacing and incorporating 100% of existing functionalities.
Presentation of the POC at the next Mautic Community Sprint in Ghent in April 2020 and ask the core team to accept it as a core feature in one of the minor versions of Mautic 3.
In addition, this will be the perfect moment for a collective brainstorming to define the bias and discrimination additional features and improvements to be planned for the future of our email builder.
Publication of a roadmap dedicated to improving the email builder
The chosen technologies and the approach with the Mautic community
We took the time to benchmark the different solutions available to us to tackle this big topic. Our DNA and that of the Mautic community, pushed us to consider Open Source as a priority development axis. It is also a good way to save time on implementation.
From this came our conclusion, a mix of the 2 technologies in strong growth, GrapesJS & MJML . Our exchange with Nicolas Garnier , founder of the MJML project, reinforced us in this choice.
